The Human Services Center in New Castle recognized OOR Mercer at a completion celebration of the Highland Avenue Project on November 22. Six adult clients of the Human Services Center in New Castle will live at the Highland Avenue Apartments. Most of the residents were living in sub-standard housing or were in transitional situations and needed permanent housing. OOR President Ray Thompson was one of the speakers to the group gathered to see the renovations. "This project is an example of what CReW does. Community Restoration Works," he stated. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh and the Lawrence County Low Income Housing Trust Fund provided funding for the project, which is part of the city’s plans for downtown revitalization. |
