OOR to Offer Free
Accessibility Service
In Crawford County

OOR will offer a new, free service to qualified handicapped residents of Crawford County, beginning in July 2007. The women’s CReW at SCI Cambridge Springs will be devoted to accessibility projects, funded by a grant from the Pennsylvania Depart- ment of Community and Economic Development.

All costs for materials, supplies and anything necessary to complete pro- jects will be covered.

Clients can receive adaptive modifications such as door widening, hallways, ramps, lowering kitchen counters, bathroom grab bars, visual door bells, phone signalers and other adaptive modifications which will improve the ability of the client to remain in the home.

Applicants must have a permanent disability verified either by a Social Security Disability Determination or

a physician’s statement. The client with the disability must live in the home to be modified.
